Oman's oil derivatives and petrochemical production largely strengthened in October 2025, with notable increases in premium 95 fuel, diesel, LPG, and polypropylene output and exports compared to last year. While overall car fuel output dipped 5.8% from September, regular 91 fuel production rose 16.8% year-on-year. Jet fuel output and sales declined, reflecting softer aviation demand. Domestic sales showed selective increases across various categories, despite some drops in exports for regular 91 fuel.

Oman's oil derivatives and petrochemical sector exhibited a mixed performance in October 2025. While overall production across most categories strengthened, car fuel output saw a 5.8% dip compared to September. However, key oil derivatives and petrochemicals recorded notable year-on-year increases in both production and exports. Regular 91 car fuel production rose 16.8% to 14.25 million barrels, though exports fell by 15.8%. Premium 95 fuel showed stronger growth, with production jumping 21.1% to 11.72 million barrels and exports surging 117%. Gas oil (diesel) production increased by 10.3% to 28.47 million barrels, with sales up 6.9% and exports up 10%. In contrast, jet fuel output declined 7.4%, with domestic sales down 4.1% and exports falling 10.2%, attributed to softer aviation demand. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) performed robustly across all indicators, with production up 14%, sales up 22.7%, and exports climbing 62.9%. Petrochemical production also strengthened, with benzene up 2.9%, paraxylene up 6%, and polypropylene seeing a dramatic 94.4% surge in production. However, polypropylene sales dipped 3.8% domestically, while exports for all three petrochemicals rose significantly.
