ONGC Hosts 7th Para Games in Delhi with 300 Athletes from Oil PSUs

ONGC has successfully launched the 7th Para Games in Delhi, drawing 300 employee-athletes from various oil PSUs like IOCL, HPCL, and BPCL. This inter-PSU tournament aims to create an inclusive sporting platform for Divyang employees, promoting teamwork, resilience, and engagement across the oil and gas sector. Participants will compete in diverse para sports including athletics, badminton, and wheelchair racing, fostering confidence and celebrating special abilities.

ONGC has successfully inaugurated the 7th Para Games in Delhi, bringing together approximately 300 employee-athletes from a total of eight major oil Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). These include ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Oil India Limited (OIL), and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL). The inter-PSU tournament is designed to offer an inclusive sporting platform for Divyang employees within the oil and gas sector.Pankaj Kumar, ONGC Director (Production), emphasized that the Para Games underscore a collective commitment to celebrating the special abilities of Divyang colleagues. He noted that in a sector demanding teamwork and resilience, inclusion is a significant strength that enhances organizational performance. Rajarshi Gupta, Managing Director of ONGC Videsh Limited, praised the athletes' unwavering resolve, highlighting that true strength stems from sustained effort. ONGC Director (HR) Manish Patil spoke about the transformative power of sports in shaping character and fostering a culture of inclusion, noting the event's steady growth since its inception in 2017. Athletes will compete in disciplines such as athletics, badminton, table tennis, and wheelchair racing, across various classifications including hearing and speech impairment, visual impairment, upper and lower limb conditions, and wheelchair categories. The event also features national and international para-sportspersons, aiming to strengthen confidence, belonging, and engagement among employees.
