PM Modi Announces Ex-gratia After 15 Killed in Rajasthan Road Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Phalodi, Rajasthan, where 15 pilgrims died and two were injured after a tempo traveller collided with a stationary trailer. He announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the PMNRF.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a road accident in Phalodi district, Rajasthan. At least 15 pilgrims were killed and two others injured when a tempo traveller returning from Kolayat Temple in Bikaner collided with a parked trailer on the Bharat Mala Highway. The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured. The incident occurred near Matoda village, and the bodies have been kept in the Osian government hospital mortuary. The injured were first treated locally and then referred to Jodhpur for further care. Police Commissioner Om Prakash Paswan confirmed the creation of a green corridor to ensure timely medical treatment for the injured. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also expressed condolences and directed officials to provide all possible assistance to the victims' families and ensure the best medical care for the injured. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also mourned the loss of lives. The administration remains focused on saving lives and providing necessary support to those affected by the tragedy.
