PM Modi to Inaugurate National Conference on Legal Aid and Launch Vande Bharat Trains
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a two-day national conference on 'Strengthening Legal Aid Delivery Mechanisms' at the Supreme Court on November 8. He will launch a Community Mediation Training Module by NALSA and address the gathering. The conference will focus on legal aid systems, panel lawyers, para-legal volunteers, and financial management of legal services. Modi will also flag off four new Vande Bharat Express trains in Varanasi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the National Conference on 'Strengthening Legal Aid Delivery Mechanisms' at the Supreme Court of India on November 8 at around 5 PM. The event, organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), will deliberate on key aspects of the legal services framework, including the Legal Aid Defence Counsel System, panel lawyers, para-legal volunteers, permanent Lok Adalats, and financial management of legal services institutions. During the programme, Modi will launch the Community Mediation Training Module prepared by NALSA and address the gathering. The conference aims to enhance access to justice for marginalized and underprivileged sections of society. On the same day, Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, to flag off four new Vande Bharat Express trains. These trains will operate on the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes. The Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat will save about 2 hours and 40 minutes compared to current special trains, connecting major religious and cultural destinations. The Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat will reduce travel time by nearly 1 hour, benefiting passengers from several cities and improving access to Haridwar. The Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat will be the fastest on its route, completing the journey in 6 hours 40 minutes, strengthening connectivity between Delhi and key cities in Punjab. The Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat will reduce travel time by over 2 hours, connecting major IT and commercial hubs in southern India. These new trains aim to provide faster, modern, and comfortable travel options for pilgrims, professionals, students, and tourists.
