PMFAI Honors Agrochemical Visionary Pradip Dave with ‘The Guiding Legend Award’ at Agchem Awards 2026

He was recognized for over five decades of unparalleled leadership and his pivotal role in developing India's agrochemical sector. Dave's advocacy shaped industry growth, defended local formulators, and fostered international trade, making him a cornerstone of Indian agriculture and a respected mentor to many.
Mr. Pradip Dave, Chairman of AIMCO Pesticides Ltd. and President of the Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI), was honored with the prestigious ‘The Guiding Legend Award’ at the seventh edition of the PMFAI-SML Annual Agchem Awards 2026. The ceremony, held on January 19th in Dubai, recognized Mr. Dave's extraordinary contributions to the Indian agrochemical industry over more than five decades.Beginning his professional journey in 1965, Mr. Dave has been a pivotal force in steering AIMCO Pesticides Limited to excellence. His extensive leadership roles include serving as PMFAI President for over 35 years, where he guided the sector through early challenges and orchestrated its robust national and international growth. He has also been influential in institutional bodies like the Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT) since 1991 and as Chairman of CAPMA since 2008, consistently advocating for the MSME sector.Tributes from industry leaders underscored his impact. Mr. Ramanathan Seethapathi, President & CEO of Gharda Chemicals International, USA, lauded Mr. Dave as a primary architect of India’s global market presence, crediting him for championing small formulators against multinational dominance four decades ago. Mr. Deepak Shah, Chairman of SML Limited, described Dave as a relentless problem-solver, mentor, and bridge-builder between the industry and government. The award, presented by Mr. Bimal Shah, Managing Director of SML Limited, culminated in a standing ovation from over 900 national and international participants, cementing Mr. Pradip Dave's legacy as a true guiding legend of Indian agriculture.
