Potaliya Petrochemicals and Kishan Infrastructure Industries have won SECI's auction for 17.77 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government buildings in Puducherry. Potaliya secured 15 MW and Kishan 2.768 MW, both at a tariff of ₹4.11/kWh. The tender, initially floated last September, saw an increase in capacity. The scope includes design, commissioning, and operations, with developers responsible for grid connectivity and adhering to specific capacity utilization factors using approved modules.

Potaliya Petrochemicals and Kishan Infrastructure Industries have emerged as the successful bidders in the Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) auction to develop 17.77 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects. These installations are designated for government buildings in Puducherry, specifically under Tranche-V. Potaliya Petrochemicals secured a significant 15 MW, while Kishan Infrastructure Industries won 2.768 MW, with both companies quoting a competitive tariff of ₹4.11 (~$0.0434) per kilowatt-hour.The tender was initially announced in September of the previous year, with an amendment subsequently increasing the total capacity from an original 13,043 kW to the final 17,768 kW. The comprehensive scope of work for the successful bidders includes the full lifecycle of the solar projects: design, engineering, erection, testing, and commissioning. Furthermore, the developers are obligated to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the entire duration of the power purchase agreement (PPA). Key responsibilities also encompass securing net metering, grid connectivity, and all necessary permits, approvals, licenses, and insurance. Developers must ensure the transmission of power up to the interconnection point and maintain the capacity utilization factor (CUF) within specified ranges throughout the PPA term, with a minimum annual CUF of 15%. All modules utilized must be sourced from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers List I. This auction follows a previous SECI tender in December, where other firms secured 5.8 MW of rooftop solar capacity across various government institutions.
