On the night of March 10-11, Russian authorities reported a large-scale drone attack impacting several regions across the country. Significant incidents included explosions heard in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, and a major fire at a chemical plant in Tolyatti, Samara Oblast. According to the Russian media outlet Astra, residents of Tolyatti reported multiple explosions followed by a fire at what is believed to be the KuibyshevAzot chemical facility, a prominent producer of caprolactam and nitrogen fertilisers. Another major petrochemical company, Tolyattikauchuk, is located nearby. In response to the UAV activity, Samara Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed an attack and introduced a 'Kovyor plan,' a protocol for airport safety during unidentified aerial object sightings. The mayor of Sochi also confirmed that air defence systems were actively responding in his city. The Russian Defence Ministry later stated that its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a total of 185 Ukrainian UAVs. These alleged interceptions took place over Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, Samara, and Saratov oblasts, as well as Krasnodar Krai, and over the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, including temporarily occupied Crimea.
