India’s Sanmar Group has signed two long-term agreements with UAE’s TA’ZIZ for the annual supply of over 350,000 tonnes of petrochemical feedstocks, including ethylene dichloride (EDC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM). The products, produced at TA’ZIZ’s Abu Dhabi facility, will support Sanmar’s PVC manufacturing in Egypt and India. The deal strengthens UAE-India economic ties and supports industrial growth in both nations.

The Sanmar Group, a Chennai-based conglomerate with global operations in chemicals, shipping, and engineering, has entered into two product sale agreements with TA’ZIZ, a leading UAE chemicals and transition fuels ecosystem. Under these agreements, which can last up to 10 years, TA’ZIZ will supply more than 350,000 tonnes annually of key petrochemical feedstocks—EDC and VCM—produced at its Al Ruwais Industrial City facility in Abu Dhabi[2][5]. These chemicals are essential raw materials for the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a versatile thermoplastic widely used in industrial and consumer applications. The supply will specifically support Sanmar’s PVC production plants in Port Said, Egypt, and Cuddalore, India, enhancing the group’s manufacturing capabilities across these regions[2][5]. The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both companies as well as UAE government officials, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership. Both parties emphasized the deal’s alignment with goals of operational excellence, sustainability, and long-term value creation. The agreement also reflects the deepening economic collaboration between the UAE and India, offering new opportunities for industrial development and economic diversification in both countries[1][2]. This marks the first time such chemicals will be exported from the UAE, further establishing TA’ZIZ as a key player in the global petrochemical market[2]. The total value of the deal was not disclosed.
