Tis Hazari Court Denies Bail to Bharat Kumar in Major Cocaine Haul Case
The Tis Hazari Court rejected the bail plea of Bharat Kumar, accused of collecting cocaine in Delhi on instructions from an absconding co-accused in a major drug trafficking case involving over 1300 kg of narcotics, including cocaine and hydroponic marijuana. The court cited evidence such as photographs, recovered currency notes, and his proximity to the seized drugs as reasons to deny bail.
Bharat Kumar, an accused in a high-profile drug trafficking case involving a seizure of approximately 1291 kg of cocaine, 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, and mephedrone, had his bail plea rejected by the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi. Kumar allegedly traveled from Mumbai to Delhi to collect cocaine from co-accused Tushar Goyal, under instructions from absconding co-accused Vikas Mane. Evidence presented in court included photographs of Bharat Kumar and a 10-rupee note found on co-accused Tushar Goyal's phone, which were used as tokens of identity during the drug delivery. During the police raid, Bharat Kumar was found near the godown in Mahipalpur where part of the drugs was recovered, wearing the same clothes as in the photographs. Despite the defense's submission claiming no direct link or financial transactions with other accused and highlighting Kumar's clean record and family dependents, the court emphasized the large volume of narcotics seized, the accused’s involvement in the drug distribution network, and rejected the bail application. The case is part of a larger investigation involving the arrest of several individuals tied to a syndicate suspected to have international links, including a Dubai-based kingpin. The cartel trafficked cocaine and marijuana valued at thousands of crores of rupees in India, with key individuals arrested across Delhi and Mumbai, highlighting the scale and complexity of the drug operation.
