Ukrainian Entrepreneur Launches Chemical-Resistant Workwear for Kentucky Cosmetologists
Nadiia Moiseieva, a Ukrainian entrepreneur who fled her war-torn country, opened a pop-up store in Lexington, Kentucky, offering chemical-resistant clothing designed specifically for cosmetologists. Her workwear protects against damage from bleach and hair toners. Originally making uniforms in Ukraine, her company shifted to military support during the war and now serves the American beauty industry with specialized protective apparel.
Nadiia Moiseieva established My Beauty Look Wear, a pop-up clothing shop inside Image Studios in Lexington Green, Kentucky. She sells chemical-resistant two-piece outfits tailored for cosmetologists to prevent damage to everyday clothes from harsh beauty chemicals like bleach and hair toner. The apparel allows cosmetologists to work professionally and avoid staining or ruining their clothing. A longtime cosmetologist, Jennifer Goodlett, highlighted the frequent damage caused by chemical spills in the industry, endorsing the value of protective wear. Moiseieva’s company initially produced cosmetology uniforms in the eastern part of Ukraine but pivoted to manufacturing military gear such as camouflage nets and tactical vests once the war began. Now in Kentucky, Moiseieva focuses on the beauty market, offering outfits priced at $145 and accessories like aprons and capes ranging from $30 to $45. The pop-up shop is scheduled to operate for two weeks, providing local cosmetologists with a valuable solution to protect their clothing from chemical damage.
